24 Hour Sponsored Singathon
A HUGE THANK YOU to all who supported the event.
It was well attended and a great success. A large group of young people came together on Friday 16th April 2010 at Derby Bass Street Christadelphian Hall to begin the 24 hours singing at 7pm. More attended throughout the evening and enjoyed finding out more about the cause, along with games, activities and an interactive thought provoking short study at the end of the evening led by bro Jason Turner.
Saturday morning began with breakfast and more singing, and after lunch we sang childrens african songs together relevant to the cause, led by bro Richard Alleyne. The afternoon continued with more visitors coming to support, and take part in the activities.
A group went down to Markeaton park during the afternoon to sing praises and african songs in fellowship together to the public, which was a great way to start conversations with passers by, telling them who we were, and what we were doing and why. It was a wonderful way to praise, preach, and spend time in fellowship together in the beautiful weather we were blessed with.
The last hour of the 24 hours was a praise session where we sang more songs together with thought provoking short talks also led by bro. Richard Alleyne, followed by tea.
We shared a beautiful, memorable time together and throughout the 24hours many quiet donations were made. The final sum is soon to be announced as all sponsorship is still being collected.
Please read all about projects which money will be going towards under Future Events.
Another huge thank you to all who attended and supported us, and to the great group of young people who stuck through the whole 24hours of singing to help Happys school, and to God who richly blessed and guided us throughout.
Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord [Eph 5:19]
